While looking for something else at the Los Angeles Public Library, Gerard Van der Leun stumbled across some 1940s photos of LA taken by Ansel Adams. Not the best photos Adams ever took, but interesting to see LA circa 1944. A surprising number of buildings still exist, like the one above (sans windmill).
